Exodus / Yesterday's Saints @ Empire 11/24/2014

I went to see Exodus ($17) on a one-off date from their tour with Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies at Empire. For a Monday night, Exodus drew very well. I think if this was a weekend, it would have been closer to selling out. I saw a bunch of people there- Ariel y Ielm, Sara y Yave, James, Rod, Dwayne, Jose, Neil and Michelle, Kyler, Alie and Nathan w/ a J, Kris, Erika, Miss Lindsey, Dorothy, Matt R, Zach O, Ruby, Marc, Sean, Marie, Steve Harris, GreekGirl, Catherine, and of course Metal Chris! It was great seeing the whole metal family (or many of them!) at this show, and on a crappy Monday night to boot!

Sick Puppies/ Lacuna Coil/ Eyes Set to Kill @ Empire 2/23/2014

I went to see Lacuna Coil ($30), along with other bands at the Revolver "Hottest Chicks in hard Rock" tour. I met up with Jen P, a couple of her friends, Scott, Dale, and Ariel.

Between the Buried and Me / Deafheaven/ Intronaut/ The Kindred at Empire 2/20/2014

I went to see DeafHeaven... with some other bands. Met up with Milla, Dale, Bridget, Victoria A, and Metal Chris. There may have been more people I knew but this apparently was a sold out show and we were stuck in the back!

Nekrogoblikon/ Quadraxis/ Demonic Sonogram @ Empire 11/16/2013

I went to see Nekrogoblikon at Empire ($15). I saw Larry M and John S, Jen P, Kris, and Tom there. Surprisingly a decent number of people I know for a kind of... obscure band.

Finntroll/ Blackguard/ Metsatöll/ Yesterdays Saints/ Sekengard @ Empire 11/4/2013

We went to see Finntroll's opening night of their 2013 North American tour ($20). This was also an interesting night because it would be the first time we would see Blackguard in ages, and the debut of local folk metal band Sekengard. We met up with John and Kate, Annie, Mike G, Sarah, Dan P, Robbie, ChrisWolf, Marie, Chris, Heavy Metal Chris, Iri, arch nemesis Ethan, Patricia, Scott, Antonio, Joel, Sean, Jason, Dorothy, Ariel y su Mujer, Jaime, Paul and Christine, LEX, and maybe a couple  more.

Dying Fetus / Exhumed/ Abiotic/ Rivers of Nihil/ Visceral Disgorge @ Empire 11/2/2013

I went to see Dying Fetus, one of several shows in the area, at Empire. This was the last night of the tour, and you could tell cause they had maybe one Dying Fetus design. It was pretty full by the time I got there, and a ton of people I knew were there too! Nick and Dan, Ariel, Jaime, Jose, Dorothy, Kris,
Bridget, Lindsey, Tara, Shelly, Sean, and Jason. I think that is everyone.

UFO/ Convictus @ Empire 10/9/2013

Went to see the mighty UFO at Empire \m/ Several old school fans were there, like Neil and Michelle, Ruby, Brian B, Kirs, and Tom!

Deicide/ Broken Hope/ Disgorge/ Necronomicon/ Krass Judgement @ Empire 10/4/013

Went to see Deicide, after a long day at work. I saw a number of people there- Ariel y su mujer, Jose, Dorothy, Sean, Will, and maybe someone else. I saw Deicide last time, but wasn't too impressed. I think it was their old schoolness that I appreciated but thought that other bands sounded better.

Death Ray Vision/ Sworn Enemy/ Acaro @ Empire 9/20/2013

Went to see Death Ray Vision at Empire ($15- $2 coupon=$13) this past week. I wanted to see this side project of Brian Fair (Shadows Fall) and the guy from Killswitch Engage before they became defunct. I missed out on Times of Grace (who, on a side note, are superior to this side project), so as I am a pretty decent Killswitch and Shadows Fall fan, I figured I should see these guys. I saw Bridget S., Jen P., and Kris there, all hangin' out. Apparently at least Bridget went to the show the previous night before...

Anathema / Alcest/ Mammifer @ Empire 9/13/2013

We went to see Alcest... and a couple other bands at EMPIRE (Empire). We saw surprisingly a large number of people, and several that we knew- Heavy Metal Chris, Ethan, Antonio, Joel, Marie + her dude, Iri, and I think Marysol was there too. And this to me was surprising cause this was not really a heavy show. I'm using a pic of Alcest here, cause I think their pix came out great.

Havok/ ANimas/ @ Empire 8/5/2013

Went w/ John n Kate to see Havok at Empire. Got some cheap tickets ($10) from Animas, and needed a break from work (and maybe a starter for Wintersun the next day!). Ran into Ariel n his buddy, Marie, Matt R., Rachel (out of her hair band element!),  and maybe one more person.

Pentagram / A Sound of Thunder/ Despite Charm/ Sons of Eddie @ Empire 8/3/2013

I wanted to catch A Sound of Thunder again, Sons of Eddie, and wanted to check out Pentagram (again, after dropping the ball when they opened for Down). I saw a bunch of people there- Neil n Michelle, Dorothy n Thereze, Brian B, the Sound of Thunder gang, Mr Nina, Bobbie, Dave, Metal Chris, and I think maybe a couple more people.

Lillian Axe/ Streetlight Circus/ Wrecking Crew @ Empire 6/28/2013

I went to see Lillian Axe at Empire last night. I only was familiar with a couple songs, but it was mostly a 'blind' show for me. It was a long week at work and about a week since my last show (longer if you only include heavy shows), so I figured for $15, they'd probably be alright. I saw Neil and Michelle there... and met a few people as well~

Project Pitchfork/ Ayria/ Spider Lillies @ Empire 6/2/2013

Went with John and Kate to see goth/electronic/industrial/whatever group Project Pitchfork ($20).  I was only somewhat familiar with Project Pitchfork ("Timekiller"), and not much or other with the others, but I've def been pleasantly surprised at these electronic shows before. There was some horrible on and off rain, and that kind of set the mood a little...darker. There were a good amount of people there, a lot of the same people from the Night Shift event the previous week- Joanna, Dar K Ness, most of Ego Likeness, among others.

Suffocation/ Exhumed/ Jungle Rot/ Rings of Saturn/ Admiron/ Krass Judgement @ Empire 4/25/2013

Went to see Suffocation/ Exhumed/ Jungle Rot/ Rings of Saturn/ Admiron/ Krass Judgement at Empire last night. there were a few more openers, but I didn't get there in time to see them (work). It was going to be a laaaaate show. I saw several people there, Cab Ride Chris, Ms Marie (and her daughter), Lindsey, Sarah, Will, Nick and his buddy, Mr System Divide Steve, and maybe a couple more.

Raven/ A Sound of Thunder/ Cab Ride Home @ Empire 4/19/2013

I went to see Raven w/ A Sound of Thunder (and Cab Ride Home) last night. I  noticed that the doors opened later than anticipated, so I actually got there in time to see all bands, for once. I actually saw more people than I expected there- Dave, all of ASOT (of course), Mr. Nina, Sako n Greg (Wolverine), Those Mexican metal guys (who aren't Mexican), Gerber, Christina n her dude, THAT GUY FROM CAB RIDE HOME (Chris) , Neil n Michelle, guy from Ripper, maybe someone else!

Otep / One-Eyed Doll @ Empire 3/30/2013

Part 1 of a 2 part concert- we end up going to 2 concerts this day!

Milla wanted to go see OTEP, so we got advance tickets and noticed the eccentric One-Eyed Doll and the um shamefully named but remarkably catchy Picture Me Broken were opening (and once again I was more interested in seeing the openers rather than the headliner). However, a wrench was thrown into planning when I noticed that it was an early show- a hip hop event was slated for 10PM or so- the time I was expecting Otep to go on. Empire announced that Otep would go on at 8:10 and Otep's bookface announced she would be on at 8. So, I realized that with our current plan we'd miss Picture Me Broken ( :( ) and maybe One-Eyed Doll. We saw Scott there, he loves Otep.

Soilwork/ Jeff Loomis / Blackguard/ Bonded By Blood/ Hatchet @ Empire 3/12/2013

Went yesterday to see Soilwork/ Jeff Loomis/ Blackguard/ Bonded by Blood/ Hatchet ($25). There were about 130 people there at the high point. Went with Milla and saw Scott, Chrstine and her crew, Ethan, Dorothy, and Matt R.
It was the opening night of the tour, so I was expecting some level of.... lateness. But the doors changed from 5PM to...7PM. Sweet baby apes.

Marduk/ Moonspell / Inquisition/ The Foreshadowing/ Deathwolf @ Empire 2/20/2013

Went to see Marduk/ Moonspell/ Inquisition at Empire ($23) with Milla. Saw Dorothy, Ruby, and probab a couple other people there. There were a lot of people there! About a few hundred people there at the high point, a pretty great turnout. Not to mention the brisk business the merch booths were doing. It was pretty crowded on the floor for Inquisition and Marduk, not so much for Moonspell, but not shabby.

Hatebreed/ Shadows Fall/ Dying Fetus @ Empire 2/14/2013

Went to see Hatebreed / Shadows Fall/ Dying Fetus at Empire for Valentine's Day w/ Milla, John, and Kate, and Shabba. There we saw Dorothy and Kate's friends Christine and John. Spend Valentine's Day in the PIT.
