Mago de Oz/ Metanium @ Howard Theater 5/22/2013

We went to see Mago de Oz ($45!!) at the swanky Howard Theater in DC. It was a night of light wallets, as mine def felt thinner at the end. We saw Dorothy, Henry, and Henry 2 there. And a TON of my Spanish (ok probably not Spanish, probably Hispanic rather, but you know what I mean) brothers.

Korn/ Device/ Love and Death @ The Fillmore, Silver Spring 5/21/2013

I went to see Korn.

Look before you judge, there are several exonerating circumstances

• Won free tickets ($45 otherwise F that!)
• A couple friends were going
• I had off the next day
• I wanted to see Device

So my friend Josh was sad I was opting out (I'm not a Korn fan, hella expensive)... then I checked my email and found out that I in fact WOULD be going. So I asked around and found Brianna is a HUGE Korn fan (big enough for the both of us I think). And that Shabba would also be there! I later found out Scott was there, and I know Carlybeth was there (ran into me near the parking garage). WOW. I am very hesitant to label Korn metal, but I know they are really generally labeled as 'nu-metal.' So they are tagged as such.

Gorod @ Empire 5/15/2013

Went with my friend Lindsey to see technical death metal band Gorod, who trekked all the way over from FRANCE ($15). We saw otherSteve, Metal Chris, Renae (finally got her name!), and a couple of Lindsey's friends (re: Death to all)

Ghost @ 9:30 Club, 5/13/2013

Went to see the much buzzed about Ghost (B.C.) at the 9:30 club ($25.25). I met up with Nina and Mr Nina and Dorothy. There were a lot of people there, but it def was not sold out. Well attended, but not packed. I know I saw Heavy Metal Chris and the big Latina girl who goes to the heavier shows (I really need to ask her her name cause I forget).

L.A. Guns @ Empire 5/9/2013

I went to see L.A. Guns ($17) at Empire and saw my buddy Tony, Erin, and Josh there. Only person there that I recognized was the Vince Neil/ Hulk Hogan looking guy who we used to see at all the hair band shows.

Oz/ Deceased/ October 31 @ Empire 5/7/2013

I went to see Oz/ Deceased/ October 31 at Empire w/ Lindsey. This was a cheap show ($15), but kind of odd in that I really only had heard of Deceased. I looked up Oz and thought they sounded pretty fun- classic metal.  I saw Ruby, Michelle n Neil, Scott n his lady, and maybe someone else there.

M3 Fest Day 2 @ Merriweather Post Pavillion 5/4/2013

We went to see M3 Rock Fest 2013, Day 2 at Merriweather Post Pavilion. This annual trek is usually one of my favourite shows to attend. This year has a pretty weak lineup, but has a lot of bands I've never seen live before. So despite (IMO) weak headliners (Twisted Sister, Bret Michaels)... I intended to have fun. We went with Tony and saw Marysol, Henry y his buddy, Robbie, Lindsey, Neil and Michelle (on the titantron).

Part 1: Day 1 Review

M3 fest Day 1 @ Merriweather Post Pavillion 5/3/2013

I went to see M3 Fest (Day1) with my buddy Tony, Joe, Franz, and his girl. This is an annual trek for me and Tony, and we always have a GREAT time. This year's lineup is kinda weak, but there were several bands that I have not seen before live.
I also saw Lindsey, Robbie, Ariel (y su mujer), and maybe someone else there.

Arsis @ Cafe 611 6/30/2012

We went to see Arsis at Cafe 611 up in Frederick at the end of April. I was not sure if we would be there in time, but we ended up making it, thankfully. I was not too bummed about missing the openers, I had never heard of any of them- Arsis was the draw for us. We saw Scott and his drummer and Crystal there (she apparently drove a BIT from PA to get here... dedicated!).
